    Base Oils and Paraffins

    Paraffin Waxes

Paraffins waxes are complex mixtures of many substances extracted from petroleum. They are solid at ambient temperature, inert, waterproof, shiny, biodegradable and non-toxic, and are therefore used to manufacture a wide variety of products.

Within our catalog, you will find high quality paraffin hydrogenates. With the hydrogenation process, we eliminate odors and substances harmful to humans or animals, thus allowing certain products to be suitable four use in foods and as food.

    APPLICATIONS OF PARAFFIN

    Cosmetics and Pharmacopoeia

    Cosmetics and Pharmacopoeia

As a component for ointments, salves, creams, petrolatum, lipstick and as a surface coating to protect pills, as a retardant for slow release of its contents and to increase the shininess. For this function you can use the Cerasur™ and Gel ranges and the Parasur 130, 150, 206 and 600 paraffins.

    Agriculture

    Agriculture

Paraffins and special mixtures are used as anti-caking agents, used in the fertilizer industry to facilitate handling, transport and dosage. Pares 150, 600 and 725 are products used in this application.

    Candles

    Candles

For candle-making, as it is the refined wax that is preferred for their manufacture. It is a safe and natural product. In the case of hydrotreated paraffins, their degree of refining is such that it meets the high standards of the American FDA for food use. Examples are Parasur 130, 150, 206 and 600.

    Food

    Food

For different types of food, such as covering of certain cheeses to protect their surface or for the production of base gum, a fundamental ingredient of chewing gum. Examples are the Cerasur Range™ and Parasur 130, 150, 206 and 600.

    Paper and cardboard

    Paper and cardboard

In the waterproof paper used to wrap food, the paraffin coats the paper and provides an additional barrier against humidity, microorganisms and odors, preserving flavors and aromas. It is also used in corrugated cardboard packaging to provide rigidity. An example is the Parasur™ range.

    Chipboard sheets

    Chipboard sheets

As an alternative to wood. In the production of chipboard, paraffin functions as a humidity repellent, guaranteeing that the sheets are rigid and waterproof. The Pares 150 are perfect for this use.
